Stay Alert About Job Offering on LinkedIn

Some colleagues and connections have asked me about some suspicious job advertisements. I hope this post help people to avoid this kind of situation.

Linkedin is a great tool for finding a job opportunity and I personally already was invited and/or applied for some job openings. In none of them, I was asked to spend any dollar to advance in the process, except for a job position to Zion Marine Engineering.

I did an easy application on Linkedin for some job opportunities. Sometime later I received a very detailed email about being chosen for an interview in England. They sent me the job description, benefits, salary range and a signed letter from the HR Manager. Everything seemed to be perfect, but to get to the interview I just needed to use the Company partner travel agency service to go to England.

With some research, I found the Company website but no other information about them. However, with further research, I talked to other people to confirm that that was a fake Company.

After that, I have learned to avoid application to opportunities I cannot identify the Company. That kind of trap can happen not only online, but also, in “real” life. So take care of yourself.

It is disgusting but there are criminals anywhere in the World.
