Process Simulation Software

Process Simulation software is tools developed to faster chemical engineering calculation. There are many of them in the market: Aspen Plus, Hysys, Unisim, ChemCad, Prosim, SimCentral, DWSim are some of them. Although they use the same basic engineering concepts their interface can vary a lot one from another and learn new tools may be time-consuming. For that reason, if possible, try to learn and understand at least one or two process simulation software.

As Process Engineer you will need to know how to handle the software, verify if output data makes sense and fix and/or adjust process inputs to convert your simulation. Engineering basis and experience will help you in this task.

For instance, let me challenge you: There are 3 processes simulation printscreen below used to simulate a water pump. Each PrintScreen refers to different process simulation software. All input data (SUCTION), as well as process package, are the same.

You can learn how to start your first process simulation on Aspen Hysys in the video below.

If you are interested on becoming an expert in Aspen Hysys enroll my training program INPROCESS BOOSTER ASPEN HYSYS. It is the fastest and easiest way to learn Aspen Hysys step by step and improve your skills to expert level.
